- International patients search in their own language and compare price, aftercare and trust signals.
- Build campaigns by treatment and by market, not one translated campaign for every country.
- Landing pages must answer the questions patients ask coordinators: price, stay, guarantees, reviews.
- Track leads to booked treatments. A dental tourism clinic reached $400K monthly revenue on $40K spend this way.

Dental, hair and aesthetic clinics compete for the same patients from the UK, Europe and the Gulf, and many bid on the same keywords with the same message.
That competition is why many clinics lose money on Google Ads. Clicks are expensive, enquiries arrive in volume, and few of them become treatments. The problem is rarely the market. It is how the campaigns are built.
A real case: from losing revenue to a top-10 clinic
A dental tourism clinic in Turkey came to me after significant losses with previous agencies. Campaigns had no clear structure, targeting was weak, and enquiries rarely became patients.
We rebuilt Google Ads from the ground up: a keyword structure by treatment and market, conversion tracking that followed each enquiry, and a path designed for serious international patients.
The clinic is now among the top 10 clinics in Turkey in its field. None of this came from a bigger budget. It came from structure, tracking and a clear patient path.
1. Build campaigns by market, not by translation
A patient in London, one in Munich and one in Riyadh search differently, compare differently and trust different signals. One campaign translated into five languages misses all three.
| Market | How patients decide | What the campaign needs |
|---|---|---|
| UK & Ireland | Compare total package price, aftercare and reviews | Ads and pages built around packages and aftercare |
| Germany & Europe | Search in their own language, value detail and credentials | Keyword research and pages per language and country |
| Gulf | Often travel with family and decide on WhatsApp | Arabic ads and pages, family and stay packages, WhatsApp first |
2. Structure by treatment and intent
Implants, veneers, All-on-4 and a Hollywood smile are different searches with different values. Each needs its own campaign or ad group, its own ads and its own page. Then you can see the cost per patient for each treatment and move budget to the ones that pay.
- Separate high-value treatments from low-value ones, so cheap clicks do not drain the budget.
- Exclude local and job-seeking searches with negative keywords.
- Schedule ads around the hours your coordinators can reply. A lead that waits overnight often goes to another clinic.
3. Landing pages that answer the coordinator’s questions
International patients ask the same questions every time. The page should answer them before the first message:
- What the treatment includes and what it costs, or a clear starting price.
- Hotel, transfers and how many days the patient needs to stay.
- Guarantees and aftercare offered by the clinic once the patient is home.
- Real reviews and before-and-after cases, with patient consent.
- WhatsApp contact in the patient’s language, visible on mobile.
4. Track leads to booked treatments
A form fill is not a patient. Clinics that win in medical tourism track each step: enquiry, consultation, booked treatment and arrival. When that data goes back to Google Ads, bidding learns which searches bring patients, not just messages.
5. Review weekly, report on revenue
Search terms, bids and ads should be reviewed every week. Reports should show cost per booked patient and revenue by treatment and market, not clicks and impressions.

Frequently asked questions
How do clinics in Turkey get international patients?
Through campaigns built for each market and treatment, landing pages that answer price, stay and aftercare questions, fast replies on WhatsApp, and tracking that follows each lead to a booked treatment.
Is Google Ads or Meta better for medical tourism?
Google captures patients who are already searching for a treatment. Meta builds familiarity and works well with retargeting. Most clinics need Google first, then Meta to support it.
How much should a clinic spend on Google Ads for medical tourism?
Start from the number of patients you want and your lead-to-treatment rate, then work back to clicks and cost per click. In the case above, $40K monthly spend produced $400K in revenue.
Which countries should a Turkish clinic target?
The UK, Germany and other European markets, and the Gulf are the most common. Each needs its own campaign, language and landing page.
